Okay, I’ll admit it, I’m one of those people who actually enjoys cleaning. There’s something peaceful about it. I find it relaxing, and I love a clean house that smells good. But recently, I ran into a problem. I got a new rug… and I didn’t have a vacuum to clean it with.
Most of my home has hardwood floors, and the only other rug I own is in my dog’s room. That one’s washable. So when it gets dirty, I just shake it off and toss it in the washer. But this new rug? Not washable. Not shakeable. It needed a real vacuum and a little handheld wasn’t going to do the job.

First Impressions: Out of the Box
When I opened the box, everything was straightforward. It came with a helpful instruction booklet and a few attachments for the hose. It’s great for getting into tighter spaces. What sold me the most was that it’s made for both hardwood floors and carpet. That’s perfect for my setup.
It also has a washable filter, which is a must for me. And yes, it’s corded (on purpose!). I didn’t want a battery powered vacuum because I kept seeing reviews where people complained about having to recharge halfway through cleaning. I’m not about that life. I want to plug in, clean everything, and be done.
Assembly? Easy
Putting it together took maybe five minutes, tops. You screw in the handle (just two screws), snap in one piece for the hose holder, and that’s it. Even if you’re not super handy, you’ll be fine. You just need a standard screw driver.
To be honest, I didn’t really plan on using the hose feature much, but I have used it a lot in the past two weeks. I like to use it to get into places that my vacuum can’t or to get a heavily dusty area clean.
Putting It to Work
Time to test it out! The cord pulls out smoothly and only retracts when you press a button with your foot (No bending down. Thank you, Bissell!). It’s honestly one of my favorite parts.
There are three foot pedals:
- One to lean it back (bottom gray)
- One for power (red)
- One for the cord to retract (top gray)
Now, it’s not whisper quiet, but that’s because it’s powerful. You could hear it sucking everything up: dirt, dust, hair, all of it. I vacuumed for maybe six minutes and the bin was already full. I couldn’t believe how much it picked up (especially dirt I didn’t even realize was there.)
Lightweight, Powerful, and Easy to Clean
The PowerForce Helix Turbo Rewind is surprisingly lightweight. I had no issue carrying it between rooms. It doesn’t feel bulky at all. And cleaning it? Super simple. When I’m ready to deep clean it, I’ll just rinse everything out with soap and water, let it dry, and it’s good to go.
After just one use, the bin was pretty full(but actually full) of dust, lint, and hair and even stuff I couldn’t see before. I even pulled some hair out by hand (I know, gross, yes, but also weirdly satisfying).
And as someone with long hair, I usually hate vacuums because they get jammed up so easily. But this one? It’s designed so everything goes straight into the canister. There aren’t a bunch of crevices for dirt or hair to get stuck in. That design alone makes it worth it for me.
Final Thoughts
