Bedroom Tour
If you’ve ever wondered how to truly spoil your dogs, let me show you. Give them their own bedroom. Today, I’m giving you a full behind the scenes look. I designed a bedroom for our three French Bulldogs, Honey, Sugar, and Pumpkin. On Youtube and Instagram, these girls are known as The Famous Frenchies. Their room is not only bigger than mine and my boyfriend’s (really, no exaggeration), but it’s also full of thoughtful touches to make their lives cozy, fun, and functional.

Meet the Girls: Honey, Sugar, and Pumpkin
Before we get into their room tour, let me introduce the stars of the show. Honey, Sugar, and Pumpkin are our three sweet and funny French Bulldogs. Each girl has a personality all her own. Honey is the goofball that is attached at the hip. Sugar is the mean girl that LOVES to play with a ball. Pumpkin is more laid back, and always first to go to bed at night. Pumpkin is the mom. Honey and Sugar are her daughters. They are inseparable, chaotic, and adorable, all at once.
They are such a big part of my life. It only made sense to give them a dedicated space to play, rest, and just be themselves. Since they are now good girls who don’t have accidents, they are allowed to roam the house all day. I close their bedroom door at night so they can sleep good(and not get into any trouble).
First Impressions: The Room’s Layout and Design
Originally this big room was my boyfriend gaming room, but now we use it for our dogs. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the wood finish on the ceiling and walls. It gives the room a warm cabin like feeling. One wall is painted a soft blue from top to bottom. The other wall is white on top and blue on the bottom. I did this to try and give the room a playful nursery vibe.
My boyfriend and I worked on the room together. He sanded the floors with a machine we rented from Home Depot, and I stained them myself. It was a labor of love, and took three days to finish. During the remodel, our dogs slept in the living room(which was interesting to say the least).

Why a Girly, Floral Theme?
Since it’s a room for three girls, I leaned into a floral, feminine theme. The room is filled with soft textures, pastel colors, and floral decor. I wanted the room to feel like a mix between a cozy nursery and a boutique pet retreat. It’s the type of space that makes you smile the second you walk in because it’s so cute.
The large area rug (a $20 find from Burlington) is super soft and ties the room together beautifully. It’s also washable and easy to clean. Having a washable rug is a non negotiable in a dogs room(or at least with mine).
Their Beds: Where Dreams Happen
Each dog has her own bed, although they do play musical beds from time to time. One bed is in the corner under the window. Another is by the wall. A third is tucked near the center of the room. If I had to guess, Pumpkin’s favorite is biggest one because she is always on it. Sugar tends to rotate and sometimes sleep on the floor. While Honey, well… Honey just goes wherever Honey wants. She is usually cuddled up with Pumpkin or Sugar.
At night, when they aren’t chasing each other around or causing chaos, they curl up in their own beds. They drift off to sleep like the little angels they pretend to be.
Potty Routine: Dog Bathroom Setup Inside the Room
In a perfect world, they’d go to the bathroom outside 100% of the time. But the reality is, that doesn’t happen. I don’t trust these girls enough to have a doggy door leading to outside. My fear is they would somehow escape the yard. At the end of the day, I don’t feel comfortable letting them outside unsupervised. It’s for the best.
So, in one corner of the room, I’ve created a mini dog bathroom station. It’s basically an extra large dog kennel turned into a bathroom. It has:
- A designated tray for pee pads (easy clean up)
- A spray bottle for quick cleaning (with bleach and water)
- Paper towels and waste bags nearby (gloved are optional)
- Two doors for entering
They’re very good about using the pee pads to go potty. I change them out about twice a day(sometimes more). I also spot clean around the area if they have little accidents. It’s not glamorous at all, but it works and it keeps the rest of the room fresh and clean.
Water Access Points: Staying Hydrated
Hydration is key for dogs, especially for Frenchies who can overheat easily. That’s why I make sure they have access to clean, fresh water at all times.
In their room, there’s a large water bowl near the front where they drink throughout the day. I also keep a second water bowl in the dining room so they’re never too far from water. This setup keeps them healthy and helps regulate their temperature, especially during warmer months. Sometimes they play so hard, I have to remind them to drink water.
No Overhead Lights? No Problem.
You might be surprised to learn that their room doesn’t have any ceiling lighting. Instead, I set up seven individual light bulbs throughout the room for a soft, well distributed glow. It creates a cozy, warm ambiance that feels more like a bedroom than a utility space. Honestly though, if we didn’t make content with the dogs, there wouldn’t be as much lighting.
During the day, I let in plenty of natural light by opening one of their curtain panels. They love window watching. If we have workers helping with the yard, they will watch and bark until they get tired. Sometimes, I have to tell them to stop.
Entertainment: Do They Watch TV?
Okay, full disclosure: there is a TV in their room. But it’s not plugged in.
I originally thought about putting on dog friendly videos or background noise, n but never do. They’re too busy playing, barking at the porch, or napping to care. We do have a standing air conditioner that works as a white noise machine. When it’s hot or maybe just nap time, I turn it on for them, and they seem to like it.
Our Room vs. Their Room: Not Even a Competition
After showing off their luxurious space, I did a quick tour of my own room. I share this room with my boyfriend. And it’s safe to say the girls definitely have more square footage than us. Our bedroom is smaller, but it doesn’t feel too small.
Our room is pretty simple. It has a bed, a TV setup (mainly used for Netflix or Hulu), a fireplace and two small closets. One of my favorite parts is the ceiling, which my boyfriend painted black with silver glitter. At night, when we turn off the lights, it looks like a starry night sky. It’s our own little piece of magic, and I love it so much.
Midnight Check In and Snack Time
Sneaking into the girls’ room at night is one of the sweetest parts of my day. I check to make sure they’re asleep. I also make sure they’re not up to anything bad. Most of the time, I catch them curled up together. Sometimes they catch me spying on them. They are so cute. Their expressions say, “Mom, how long have you been there?”

Feeding the Famous Frenchies
Late-night dinners are a rare but cute part of life with Frenchies. One particular night, I made them a light meal, and Pumpkin acted like she hadn’t eaten in days. She made those grumbly Frenchie noises until I served the food… then she took her sweet time actually eating it.
Sugar and Honey joined in, and together they nearly cleared their plates. Because they ate so late, I planned to give them a later breakfast the next day. I do this just to keep their tummies balanced.
Night Time Routine: Lights Off, Go To Bed
When Mommy(me) says it’s time for bed, then everyone has to listen. I go to sleep really late, so bedtime usually happens around Midnight or 1:00 AM for the girls. I make sure they have plenty of fresh water, and clean pee pads. By this time, Pumpkin is usually in bed and ready for sleep. Sometimes Sugar and Honey want to keep playing even though it’s time for bed. I make sure to turn their lights off except for an orange night light.
At night, I always clean their faces with scented dog wipes and regular tissues(to dry, after wipes). Our dogs love to have their faces cleaned. It also signals to them that it’s time for sleep soon.
Why I Love Living Next to My Dogs
Some people think I’m a little too extra for giving my dogs their own room. But for us, it’s a no brainer. These three girls are my family. Living next door to them means I get to:
- Check on them anytime I want
- Hear them if they bark or need help
- Catch them doing cute things while they sleep (or just being bad during the day)
- Be nearby in case of emergencies
And truthfully, I just love being close to them. I wouldn’t have it any other way. They are my motivation to keep going and really make it as an entrepreneur.

Have a designated bathroom area with pee pads, wipes, and bags ready to go. An area for dog treats is a good idea too.
✅ 3. Think about air flow and lighting
If you don’t have ceiling lights, plug-in lights or lamps work great. Natural light is a bonus. Having a fan for air circulation makes a big difference.
✅ 4. Use washable materials
Most washable rugs, are super soft and less expensive than regular rugs. Washable dog beds, and curtains are a must.
✅ 5. Make it feel like them
Add personal touches like colors, themes, toys, or even a bed with their name on it. A little paint can go a long way in making a room feel different.

Spoiling your pets isn’t just about buying them things. It’s about creating a space where they feel safe, happy, and loved. This room was designed with Honey, Sugar, and Pumpkin in mind, and every detail reflects their personalities and routines.
