Income Report #1: My First Month Online as a UGC Creator, Blogger, and Aspiring Influencer

When I first decided to quit my sales job and step into the online world of content creation, I knew that my earnings from the first month would probably be non existent. I spent a lot of time this past month in the start up phase of my journey. I built a self hosted website with Bluehost, and made a lot of mistakes along the way! I kid you not, I accidentally deleted my website on day five and had to start over from scratch. Did I cry? Yes, but I also learned a valuable lesson about backing up your website. I also started a youtube, User Generated Content profile, Amazon associates, and walmart creator account.

In the beginning, it can feel like you are taking two steps forward and one step back. Everyday I pushed through my discomfort and frustrations, and kept going. Now that my first month is over, I want to share a transparent income report so you can see exactly where I’m at and where I’m headed.

Why I’m Sharing This Income Report

I’ve always loved reading other creators income reports because they show the real results that come from hours upon hours of behind the scenes work. I also love seeing whats possible. By sharing my first month income report I want to:

• Keep myself accountable.
• Document my progress month by month.
• Inspire others who are starting from zero and remind them that growth takes time.

My Income Breakdown (August 2025)

Here’s exactly how much I made in my first month online:

• Blog (AdSense): $0
  I don’t have ads running yet, but I should have Google AdSense approved in the next couple of days. My plan is to monetize my blog posts with both ads and affiliate links.
• YouTube: $0
  I’m not monetized yet, but I’ve been working on creating more unboxing videos and posting daily Shorts to hit the 1,000 subscriber and 4,000 watch hours requirement.
• UGC Income: $0
  Even though I didn’t close any UGC deals this month, I started pitching brands and building my portfolio. This was more of a setup phase than a profit phase.
• Amazon Associates: $0
  I joined the Amazon Associates program, but I haven’t made any sales yet.
• Walmart Creator: $7.91
  Surprisingly, I made $7.91 in commission through Walmart Creator. It’s not much, but I just about lost it with excitement when I found out. This is from a few orders that people placed after clicking on one of my affiliate links. It shows me that affiliate income is possible, and it motivates me to push harder.

Total First Month Online Income: $7.91

What I Learned This Month

• Getting started matters more than being perfect. I could’ve waited until I had everything lined up, but by starting, I learned so much about blogging, affiliate links, and UGC outreach.
• Affiliate income works. Even with a small commission, it proved that the system works. You just need traffic to grow.
• Patience is key. I’m not expecting overnight success, but I’m committed to growing consistently.

My Game Plan for Next Month

I am super excited about this month. My September goals are clear and actionable:

1. Write more meaningful blog posts.
   Long form posts with affiliate links that are actually helpful for readers (never just filler content).
2. Grow traffic through Pinterest.
   I’ll be creating more Pinterest pins that link directly back to my blog, giving me steady traffic over time.
3. Hire a VA to help with UGC outreach.
   I’ll have them send cold emails to brands so I can land paid UGC deals on auto pilot.
4. Double down on YouTube.
   I’m planning more unboxing videos and posting daily Shorts to get closer to monetization.
5. Target Income Goal: $3,000 in September.
   This might sound ambitious, but I believe it is 100% possible. I predict that my top streams of income will be from Walmart Creator and user generated content deals.

Final Thoughts

Making $7.91 my first month online may not sound like much, but for me, it’s proof that this journey is real. Every big influencer, blogger, or UGC creator had to start somewhere, right?
